Earn Federal Tax Credits With VELUX® Skylights

VELUX® skylights offer several aesthetic and practical benefits. But, what you may not know is that you can be eligible for up to 30% in federal tax credits when you have new VELUX skylights installed on your home. Up and Above Contractors is a roofing contractor that offers these energy-efficient skylights, and we’d like to tell you more about how you can benefit from them.

Eligibility for Federal Tax Credit

The federal tax credit incentive has its origin in the Emergency Stabilization Act and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), signed into law in 2008 and 2009, respectively. Thanks to these two laws, property owners who purchase and install qualifying renewable technology products are eligible for a federal tax credit the year after they are installed. VELUX skylights are eligible for this incentive, and if purchased and installed before the end of 2019, you get a 30% federal tax credit, which becomes 26% in 2020 and 22% in 2021.

Why Should You Have Skylights?

Skylights can increase the amount of natural lighting in your home. Brighter indoor spaces tend to look bigger and therefore improve your home’s aesthetics. VELUX Solar Powered Blinds let you control the amount of sunlight that gets into your home. Skylights also help reduce your reliance on daytime indoor electrical lighting, which results in a significant reduction in your monthly energy consumption. VELUX skylights can also be installed on tall vertical walls. As we are also an expert siding contractor, you can be confident that we won’t mess up your siding when we install your new VELUX skylights.

If you’re replacing existing skylights, ENERGY STAR®-certified VELUX Energy Performance Model skylights are an improvement towards better energy efficiency, thanks to features like Low-E glass coating, dual-sealed glass panels and insulating argon gas fills. You can enjoy as much sunlight as your room needs without worrying about the effects of unwanted ultraviolet (UV) and infrared rays. As an expert roofing contractor, you can also count on Up and Above Contractors to ensure that the areas around the skylights will be free from leaks.
