Simple Steps for Preparing for a Window Replacement

Installing replacement windows may seem straightforward, but it involves a lot of steps you need to prepare for before the project starts. But if you put in more effort at the beginning, you can be sure that the project gets finished quickly and efficiently.

Steps for Preparing for a Window Replacement

Schedule a Convenient Time

If you’re only replacing one or two windows in your home, chances are it can only take a day to finish it. But if it’s a full-house window replacement, expect the work to extend up to two or three days.

You may want to take time off from work or work from home on the window installation day. This will allow you to ask any concerns you may have and monitor the progress.

Clear a Path

While your contractor will be the one to clear a walking path around the windows, doing this beforehand can save a lot of time. Remove your furniture, plants and anything else that’s obstructing the pathways. If you’re going to install windows on the second-story, make room for equipment like ladders and scaffolding.

Cover Up

For those items that you can’t move away from the jobsite, it’s important to cover them to catch debris and make cleanup easier. Cover furniture and flooring inside your home, and put drop cloths or plastic sheets on your plants outside. At Up and Above Contractors, we’ll take steps to minimize the mess, make sure to protect your belongings and clean up the work area once done.

As the premier window and siding contractor, we’ll guide you through every step, from planning to installation. We have the expertise to deliver a smooth and hassle-free window replacement.
